Abstract submission deadline: 31 May 2018

All abstracts must be submitted through the online submission platform and should follow the instructions and template provided.

Abstracts for oral and poster presentations, pre-formed panels, workshops and special tracks, are invited on the following conference themes (click here for details on each theme):

1.         The Governance of Complex Systems
2.         Culture and Inclusivity
3.         Disasters, Epidemics, and the Unexpected
4.         Cities as Economic Engines
5.         Monitoring and Evaluation of Urban Health Indicators
6.         Safety, Security, and Justice
7.         Spiritual Health in the City

Oral and poster presentations

All abstracts must be submitted through the online submission platform and should follow the instructions and template provided.

Authors should submit an abstract in English (no longer than 300 words), carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling, on one of the conference topics.

Successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt including an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all correspondence. Allow at least 2 hours for your receipt to be returned to you.

Once the paper is accepted, at least one of the authors must register for the conference and present the paper at the conference.

A limited number of scholarships will be available for people from low and middle income countries whose abstracts have been accepted for oral presentations. Further information will be available on the website in May 2018.

Abstracts of all accepted contributions will be included within the abstract system which will be distributed to all registered conference participants.

For revisions or queries regarding papers already submitted
If you do not receive acknowledgement for your abstract submission or you wish to make any essential revisions to an abstract already submitted, please DO NOT RESUBMIT your abstract, as this may lead to duplication. Please email the Content Coordinator with details of any revisions or queries. Please quote your reference number if you have one.


Pre-formed Panels

Pre-formed panels (group presentations) are explorations of a topic with a pre-determined list of speakers and chair or discussant(s). They will be scheduled alongside abstract sessions in 1.5 hour blocks. The proposed program should run no longer than 1 hour to allow at least 30 minutes of discussion.

Workshops

Pre-Conference Workshops are full or half-day working sessions on designated days that bring together groups of conference registrants only (10-60 people) with the aim of advancing work on a specific project or providing a training experience to conference attendees.

Organisations are invited to sponsor a Track on a specific topic or theme that complements the ICUH themes.
