David Vlahov, Yale University, School of Nursing, USA
Dr. Vlahov is Associate Dean for Research and Professor, Yale School of Nursing and Professor of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health. His primary area of focus has been on urban health. He was Director of the Center for Urban Epidemiologic Studies at the New York Academy of Medicine and was the founding President of the International Society for Urban Health. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Urban Health, has edited four books on urban health, and has published over 666 scholarly papers. He was a member of the WHO Knowledge Network for Urban Settlements as part of the WHO Commission on the Social Determinants of Health. He served on the New York City Board of Health, and is a member of the National Academy of Medicine currently serving of the Institute’s Board of Global Health.
