Ryan M. Scarrow, Associate Editor, Nature Sustainability


Ryan joined Nature Research in March 2017 as an Associate Editor serving the journals Nature Sustainability and Nature Plants. He handles manuscripts from sociology, anthropology, demography, urban studies, science & technology studies, water & society, and the humanities. Before joining Nature Research, Ryan received his PhD in sociology from the Ohio State University with a focus on the political economy of water scarcity across cities in the American West, and has published research on sustainable migration and environmental amenities in urban areas and the energy intensity on an international scale. Ryan has degrees in history and sociology from the University of Kansas, and studied at the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
