Olga L. Sarmiento, Professor, Universidad de los Andes
Dr. Olga L. Sarmiento is a Professor of Public Health at the School of Medicine at Universidad de los Andes and a Principal Investigator on the SALURBAL Project. She is the director of the Epidemiology Group at Universidad de los Andes and a board member of the International Society of Urban Health (ISUH), and the Latin American Network of Urban Health (LAC-Urban Health). Dr. Sarmiento’s current research includes urban health, specifically, the evaluation of healthy behaviors and the environment with a special focus on community interventions in Latin America. She holds an M.D. from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and an M.P.H. and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
